List "Steepest of the Finest- Western Steepest 100 P2Ks" By wayfarer
Notes: The hope of this list is to single out some of the most locally dominant, steep, eye-catching peaks in the Western U.S.- those with lots of prominence - as well as local relief on all sides, and steepness. It is based on all potential peaks having at least 2,000' of prominence. There are 1139 such Western peaks in the LOJ database, excluding Alaska and Hawaii which this list does not include. By using Tim Worth's Steepness lists for Overall Average Steepness at 100/800/1600 meters, the steepest 100 major prominence peaks have been calculated and grouped together in this one list and ranked in descending order by their average overall steepness.
