List "Steepest of the Finest- Northeast Steepest 50 P1Ks" By wayfarer
Notes: The hope of this list is to single out the most locally dominant, steep, eye-catching peaks in the Northeast- those with lots of prominence - as well as local relief on all sides, and steepness. It is based on all potential peaks having at least 1,000' of prominence. There are 365 such Northeastern peaks. By using Tim Worth's Steepness lists for Overall Average Steepness at 100/800/1600 meters, the steepest 50 major prominence peaks have been calculated and grouped together in this one list. Two peaks are tied in average steepness for the Number 50 spot, resulting in 51 peaks on the list.
