I'm glad you mentioned this Layne. It will save me tons of time finding the closest higher ranked peaks based on their coords. I can use a min() function on the distance of all higher peaks to return the proximate parent and distance from now on. For anyone wanting to implement distance based on coordinates in excel, I've attached a file. You can batch calculate by copying the formula in column F down and pasting coords into columns A->D.
