John - what is your plan for the remainder of Alaska peaks?
Looks like most are inaccessible. However, I managed to squeeze in a couple from a cruise ship. From sea to summit I was able to manage 1peak per port in the time granted ashore. Approx 8-12 mi RT & > 3K elev gain.
So what's the deal with these quad inconsistencies? Here is some info. My Alaska Hiking guide seemed to agree with the 15' quad data.
Mt Juneau:
1966 15' quad Juneau B-2, spot elev 3576', interpolated saddle 3250', prom 326'
1986 7.5' quad Juneau B-2 SE, spot elev 1087m = 3566', interpolated saddle 990m = 3248', prom 318'
Deer Mtns:
1970 15' quad Ketchikan B-5, spot elev 3001', interpolated saddle 2650', prom 351'
1991 7.5' quad Ketchikan B-5 SW, interpolated elev 910m = 2985', interpolated saddle 830m = 2723', prom 262'
Any chance of adding member hiked peaks so we can post pics & TRs so others might plan to enjoy?
