North and South Mules Ears in Texas are both class 5. I'll see what I can round up for you for proof. I might add that it's 5th class with extreme danger.

I put them in as 5.x for now. If you can find a decimal rating for these that would be great.

I'll definitely find it. May take a few days though. Thanks for the addition.

Nice addition John!

Definitely still a work in progress though, Utah looks a little "light" to me just on the Fisher Towers/Castle Valley area alone - Kingfisher, Ancient Art, Sister Superior, The Rectory etc... all tech. Not to mention Tower of Babel and The Organ in Arches. I don't know the ratings of any of them, but they are in the Desert Rock III book if you have it. Gorgeous looking stuff, maybe someday my tech skills will get me there :toothless:

I've always been confused as to why Peak Sixteen gets a Class 4 rating. In order to climb it by its easiest route you must climb the same crux required for Peak Fifteen.

Not sure where that rating came from, but I changed it to the same as Peak Fifteen.
I see what you mean based on your route image:

I guess another way of looking at it is, are these two peaks that both require 5th class climbing or is it fifth class for one but not both? :worms: In other words, hypothetically let's suppose Peak Sixteen is a walk-up from Peak Fifteen. It seems kind of misleading to say that both peaks separately involve 5th class climbing (as in two separate sets of pitches). The bigger peak should get the harder class rating if I had to choose since the bigger peak is more likely to be the primary objective...

If you want to help out, any ratings you can supply would be greatly appreciated

Good addition, better than the "solo technical dog ascents" members area idea.

Here's a bunch of 5.x's for Montana. Sources being Climbers guide to MT(Caffrey), Climbers Guide to Glacier NP(Edwards), and first hand observation. Dozens more out there that only the locals know about.

Mt St Nicholas
Castle Rock Spire
Mt Wilbur
Blackfoot Mtn
Bears Tooth
North Trapper Pk
Split Mtn
Walton Mtn
9167

Yep. Lots of downed timber in that quad.

Couple more (all WY) from firsthand observation.....

North Chimney Rock 5.x, ID 10224
Castle Rock 5.x, ID 10543

Boars Tusk is a probable 5.x, have only seen a photo though.
Another probable 5.x is 11565, aka "Turrett Pinnacle". Guidebook says it still may be unclimbed.

Also, the prom of Castle Rock is closer to 60' in the field. This tower is above the I80 tunnel near Green River, can see it from my front porch. -Tim

aaron ihinger and i agree with the 5.7 rating looking glass rock(la sal junction quad, utah) gets on its summitpost page.

also, i noticed you added the first, second and third flatiron to the site. are you planning on adding more flatirons or just those three seeing that they're the most popular ones?
