Looks like we have a truly humbling and challenging list on our hands with this top 1000 steepest. Might just be the toughest list anyone has ever come up with. The highest completion % by anyone is Bob Packard at 9.1%.
Washington State takes up 27% of the list - I'm sure Eric, John Roper, Paul Klenke, and Bob Bolton will be proud. Lots of steep and tall faces there on peaks that may have a much less steep route, bringing up the average steepness. Using the least steep angle in 100m radius by descending score as the criteria more heavily favors AZ, CA, and UT with these states containing more peaks that have no easy line in any direction. The vast majority of the high-quality peaks in most states still show up in any event.
