"Terror Summit" - Boulder County

Postby Brian Crim » Sun Nov 11, 2012 9:31 am

What is Terror Summit?

I'm pretty familiar with the area and have never heard of it and I can't find any info on it. Something up above Green Thumb and the Ironing Boards? What guidebook is it in?

Thanks!

I think GR calls this the actual summit of the Ironing Boards area - closed contour. He rates it Class 3 according to his lists. Hopefully he will shed more info on this.

Where did you find it on his lists? I searched his site and came up without any luck. Also checked his Flatiron guide and it's not mentioned in there (that I could find at least). Wonder if it's in the Rossiter?

EDIT: I found it HERE on his site.

Still curious about this one. It's not in the Haas guidebook either.
Not on the map or in a guidebook (that I've seen). Where did this name come from?

So I got up and climbed this today. Goes at about 5.2 and is quite exposed and must be downclimbed. I placed a register at the base of the summit tower. This is a very cool little spot in the Flatirons but I still wonder who named it (Roach I would bet) and how anybody heard of it to have it added. I added a few photos on the "peak page".
