Ryan Kowalski finishes Clear Creek County ranked peaks list!

Postby lukePlumley » Sat Aug 20, 2011 8:02 pm

Ryan Kowalski completed the Ranked Peaks of Clear Creek County this morning on the summit of "Golden Bear PeaK". This marked Ryan's first County Completion, and I was very happy to be on hand for the occasion.

"Golden Bear" was the 3rd peak of the day in a giant 7-peak traverse from Loveland Pass to Ptarmigan Peak that will now be known as "The Kowalski".

Congratulations Ryan, and thanks again for the invitation!

Congrats on your first complete county Ryan! What a way to go out, and a nice way to get a bunch of peaks. What was the distance/gain on that? I figured Golden Bear to Ptarmigan with a shuttle would go nicely but adding in the two 12ers from Loveland pass is even better.

Thanks everyone, especially Luke and his wife for joining me. I don't get to finish many "lists" so when I do I try and do it in a memorable way and this was a trip I've been waiting to do for a few years now.

The mileage was somewhere between 16 and 17 miles and about 5500' elevation gain (i.e. a normal day for you 8) )
