Interesting. I have to be of two minds about this. The idea of open space, and public access to the summit sounds attractive. OTOH, it sounds like successful, long-term bullying of Mr. McGee (whom I have met), and, based on experience elsewhere, I don't have much confidence that their trail-building, etc. will be done, and the peak opened up, any time very soon. I got congenial access to the high point (which is currently in the middle of his rear deck) by simply knocking on the door and asking for it.
