The proximate parent of 8130 in El Paso County is listed as Mays Peak. Mays is quite a ways to the south and only 8,283. A close inspection of the topo map, however, shows a peak less than a mile to the SW which rises to over 8,400. This peak is quite visually prominent from some angles, and I have wondered about it for quite a while. It clearly has no name, and may well not have enough prominenence to be ranked, but why does it not appear on any lists (that I can find)? The saddle in between it and 8130 appears to be just below 7,800 ft.
I'm seriously thinking of going out and climbing it. Can anyone shed any light on this?
