While trying to plan a trip a link-up, I found these from the Haas Book.

Should the bouldering stuff really be included?

Most of the Flatiron stuff at least has 20' of prominence and ascends a large chunk of rock to summit. You could go buy a guidebook for bouldering in the area and add tons of junk since boulderers always name every single little thing that they climb. For example the Advisors, since they are one of the bigger "boulders" and more like other Flatiron formations. Roach describes them as one formation, and I think it makes since to keep it that way. When Kalet and I did Northern Shanahan Slab a few days ago, there are 2 summits so technically it could be listed as separate formations even though it's all really the same thing.

To me, it just seems as soon as bouldering stuff can be included it becomes more a game of what guidebook names the most pebbles to be added than it is about actual summits.

Tomato rock and others then should be removed? The advisers appear to be fairly large formations via satellite imagery and are clearly separate.

I'm ambivalent on if they are added or not but since about every other formation has been added, why not?

But you are totally right. If everything else is added then why not. I just envision places like Horsetooth or Carter Lake being areas with dozens of named, in-a-guidebook "formations" cluttering up the database making it impossible for anybody who ever wants to complete an area. But once again, I guess it really doesn't matter.

The more I have to bag locally that's not scary like Gothic, I'm totally glad to seem them added. hahaha.
