John Kirk Completes Colorado's Top 1000 Peaks

John - way to finish atop Lone Cone on 10/03/2015!

I stood up there a few days before knowing that you were destined to finish there soon.
Looks like rest of 12ers soon too.

Congrats on yet another gold star.

Way to rock it out John and it looks like you are well on your way to several other milestones. Super fun watching you and Aly post all those awesome peaks!

Congratulations!

It's not totally out of the question that you could be the first to complete the entire state.

Congrats John! That's a nice one to finish the 1000 highest on.

And congrats on finishing the highest 900 on Banded Peak on 9/24. Only 9 left in the 1100 highest!

Nice job John! An impressive feat made even more impressive by the staggering amount of peaks outside the top 1000 you have climbed too!

I've been following that line of thought as well Dave! But like Ryan I was thinking about the Chimney Rock in Archuleta county plus a few others like:
Chimney Rock in Montezuma county
Squaw in Montezuma county
East Toe in Montezuma county
7071 in Moffat county
6799 in Moffat county
9300 in Gunnison county
Muleshoe Bend in Montrose county
5700 in Mesa county

And that's not to mention 6719 in Mesa and 9854 in Hinsdale. Sure Dave's climbed them but they don't look very easy :-)

And who knows what other challenges (private prop, Indian Reservation, etc...) lie in the still 177 unclimbed peaks in CO

Sounds like a challenge right up John's alley! jp

Thanks everyone, it's been a fun 15 year journey!

This one's definitely problematic!

This Chimney Rock has me even more concerned. I don't think the bottom 150' is rock.

I think I'll be ok with however many more CO peaks I get in the next 5 years or so before moving on, but I do want to repeat Teresa's ultimate feat of 10k+.

I'm surprised no one on LOJ has climbed Rocky Peak. It's right next to the city of Steamboat Springs and is a very visible landmark in that area.
