John Paul became the third completer of Delta County, culminating with a fun climb of Needle Rock with Dave, Alyson, and I on Sunday Oct. 26th.

JP,
Way to go! I sure did have a fun climb with you yesterday! Looking forward to our next outing! What will be your next county on the agenda for finishing?!

Thanks everyone! What an excellent day we had climbing the Needle plus a couple of others. You know when you’re with the Kirk’s it’s not going to be just one peak. I love it! Thanks Alyson and John for inviting me to join. Dave your lead was crucial and it was my pleasure to meet you & W! I’d also like to thank Jeremy Hakes for his helpful info on several of the peaks – the trail up Electric from the lodge was a coup!

I’m really looking forward to getting some more counties finished. Montrose seems the most feasible, albeit Muleshoe Bend is a real question mark. Anyone interested in checking it out next spring? I’m also interested in getting my peak counts up in Garfield, Ouray, Gunny and Chaffee so I’ll be working hard in those counties. Mesa would be the ultimate county to finish, especially for us Western Slopers, but 5700 & 6719 look like pretty serious stoppers – any interest Dave? All in all I’m just happy climbing peaks so I’m up for anything – even the dumpsters! JP

Congrats John! Needle Rock looks interesting. Good to have somebody else on the western slope getting out there a lot.

Hakes, Packard, and Paul. That's a pretty select group! Congratulations John! Looks like a tougher list than the small size would indicate.

Indeed! Congrats. Some good stuff with a lot of diversity in that county....
