Just saw this neat feature on the member state page for those that have entered home coordinates. John, how is this list compiled?

Just a guess here, looks like the algorithm is 1) find a user's highest unclimbed peak 2) find next highest unclimbed peak which also is closer straight line distance to home coordinates 3) repeat until there are no higher, unclimbed peaks which are also closer to home coordinates than the previous peak. No requirement that prominence-based divides must be followed. Something along these lines?

Yes, that's what it is - closest peak, then the next highest that is closest, and...so on. Every individual who lives in a different location will have a differing list based on their home coords and peaks they've done.

A side note - this list rewards those who save the highest for last, unless you like a list that gets bigger. Actually if you want to shorten yours, here's a new reason to hold off on Longs Peak.

You can find it on any member profile after selecting a state. For example:

then click on:
View CO ascending proximity list
which takes you to:
