CA COHP Prominence

Postby Al Sandorff » Sun Oct 05, 2008 9:51 pm

John,

I don't believe the prominence shown in LOJ for Mount Davidson or Mount Vaca to be correct. I'm seeing 628 and 1959 at another site for clean prominence. Taking a look at the maps, their values seem more believable, although neither site tells me where the key col is; the map for Davidson is hard to follow with all the misc SF city markings and the key col for Vaca I believe is fairly far away. If I'm wrong and I missed something, could you help me with where the key col is?

Thanks, Al

Al,
Here are the updated stats including col locations- looks like I had the saddles listed as the prominence figures and vice versa.

Mt. Davisdon:

Mt. Vaca:

I haven't checked any of the other CA HPs (below 12k) to see if this happened elsewhere, but will eventually be revising all of these when I put up the rest of CA's peaks.

Thanks John,

I checked all the other CA peaks that I have climbed that you so far have listed and didn't see any other issues, granted I've only climbed a very small percentage :)
