How many peaks are in within your climbed peaks radius?

Postby John Kirk » Thu Mar 13, 2008 6:53 pm

How many peaks have you completed within the radius from your home coords to the nearest unclimbed peak?

At the bottom of the 50 closest page, you can see how many peaks you have done within your radius to the nearest unclimbed peak:

I have 103.

John, I only have 36 so far. I guess I have some work to do yet.
Thanks for more fun stats to sort through on a slow work day!

Mine says I "have completed all 18 peaks within the 17.74605 mile radius centered at 39.7538°W, 104.9648°N." Is that good? lol

John: An interesting enhancement(especially for those of us who haven't completed our closest 50) would be to have a parallel column with the 50 closest peaks a member HAS climbed, along with the distances. (If a member has climbed less than 50, their entire resume would show.)

Both lists would be dynamic until the member has climbed the 50 closest to their home.

Help! I don't find anything like that at the bottom of my page. Did I leave something out??

I think it might be because you haven't climbed your closest peak yet. I haven't climbed my closest peak yet and I don't have that for me either.

I am up to 82 peaks within my closest peaks climbing radius (for Nevada). There are 83 Nevada peaks within 18 miles of my home coordinates. Once Arizona is done, I'll have to identify the closest peaks in AZ that are within 18 miles of my home coords. Once I get those I'm sure I'll be well over 125 peaks. Access to certain peaks around Hoover Dam has been/will be making access difficult. It's a good thing I don't live closer to the Nevada Test Site. THAT would make access difficult :!:

I think it would be neat if we could get the closest 50 regardless of state on one screen. I have the same problem only it's with CA/NV

I went ahead and made it stateless - doesn't run as slow as I thought it would. Al - looks like NV is still too far away (unclimbed by you, that is) for you with your current coords...

Here is Tracy's (contains AZ):

Thanks John,

I knew I had some catching up to do on the California side

88 for me. Those annoying Park CO ones piss me off. Once that new state park opens, that will help me.

Thanks, John!
I went from 82 peaks in my climbed peaks radius down to 36 peaks in my climbed peaks radius. I did get asked if you made the change because I was closing in on your number of peaks climbed :-P ! FWIW, I really like the change and can focus on some closer to home peaks now (in Arizona)! Thanks!

Until I can muster (or aid) a 110' pitch of 5.10+, I can only add two, so you may well have a chance to pass me anyway. :disturbed:

Congrats John on knocking this one off your list! Not only did you increase the number of peaks (204) climbed in your "closest to home radius," but I understand from reading another thread in the forum that you now have completed Jefferson County. Double Congrats!

BTW, Does anyone else have a total close to the total number of peaks you have in their respective home coordinates radius?
