After that, a lot of bureaucracy was conducted on a compressed timeline, new names for around 650 features were chosen, and the project was announced as complete on September 8, 2022. It appears LOJ has already updated all the peaks that were affected. I wish the updated BGN page for each provided some insight into why the new name was chosen. Also, if the new name is in a language other than English, an explanation of what it means. To get that information (or some pronunciation help!
), apparently you'll have to "google" the names.
